I have a MacBook pro 13" with retina display, kinda new. my screen stopped working suddenly and doesn't display anything. It boots up and displays perfectly through an HDMI on external screen. I am also able to adjust my screen brightness! not sure which part is broken. I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks a lot, Shany

Sep 30, 2019 · Docking Station Issue. I am trying to use TWO external Monitors with Macbook Pro 2018 and 2019 models. I have both 13" and 15" ; both having the same issue. Here is a run down. Oct 10, 2019 · Hey Alex! Thanks for the help. I am not 100% certain resetting the NVRAM solved the problem, but I'm going to go ahead and mark that it did. In a nutshell, here are the steps I performed in order to get the external displays to work: (1) Reset the NVRAM with the external monitor plugged in via USB-C to HDMI cable (2) Updated to macOS Catalina 10.15

Jan 18, 2023 · Reloading and re-plugging it may also help. Disable HDMI Deep Color. For example, on LG TVs, it can be found under Settings > Pictures. It may sometimes cause the HDMI connection with Mac to fail. This is commonly suggested in TV instruction manuals as a troubleshooting step.
HDMI not working in windows. So I have a 2017 MBP and a benQ monitor. In macOS, everything works fine. But when I switch to windows and plug in the monitor, it works for a couple of seconds but then disconnects again. I use a HDMI cable and an apple HDMI to USB-C dongle. Does anyone know a fix?
Oct 25, 2022 · Here's how I got the monitor back. Unplugged the monitor, opened DISPLAY SETTINGS, plugged the HDMI cable into the dongle. Ventura asked me to grant access to the USB-C device. Set up external as a mirrored display, chose MORE SPACE for the resolution, then switched to EXTEND DISPLAY. Now it works.

Nov 17, 2020 · Sometimes the Mac has recognized it, but the Philips does not seem to know it. You can see it in Displays on the Mac side, and you can arrange it. But the Philips screen is blank. You have to unplug and replug the HDMI on the Philips, or power the Philips off-and-on. Once it's working, it works very well.
