Astra air conditioning been checked today leak found no gas in system new seals and re-gas required 185 pounds no guarantee aircon will work correctly in case of further faults when tested again. Is there any other checks that can be done before seals and gas renewed?

#1 · Apr 5, 2015 Hi guys I had to turn my air con on today for the first time in a few months. After running it for a while I noticed the temperature was not very cold and certainly not chilled. When I turn off the air con the temperature stays pretty much the same. I've checked the fuse and it's ok.

Did you ever solve this? I have a similar issue on my Astra J. Compressor clutch is not engaging. I had the AC system re-gassed and it's not leaking. Replaced pressure switch on condenser, but no change. Checked fuses and relays - all seems OK. Compressor seems free to spin, not jammed. There are two cables to the compressor. One has ~0.4V.

Astra 2007 with a leaking condenser. I used OFN (oxygen free nitrogen) and bubble spray. I had to move the condenser forward to expose and prove this leak.
